We've been driving past this place & meaning to stop for years. I only wish we would have come sooner. My lobster ravioli in vodka cream sauce was PERFECT. I ate my entire dinner, which has never happened before in my life. We have 2 more planned trips with friends & family in the next month we loved it so much. Tip: Make the reservation & go hungry!
I’m in Pittsburgh for Mother’s Day weekend. I thought that I would break away from everyone and get some good ole Italian cuisine. This place does not disappoint but who am I? come on in and try it for yourself. My waitress was Michelle and she was very warm, welcoming and accommodating. Surely, I’ll be back sooner than you think.
I recently dined at Abruzzi Italian Cucina, and it was an absolutely phenomenal experience that left me eager to return. From the moment I arrived, the charming stone facade and elegant signage set the tone for a memorable meal. Inside, the ambiance was warm and refined, with dark wood paneling, intricate gold-toned wallpaper, and a stunning chandelier casting a soft glow. The dining room felt cozy yet spacious, with neatly arranged tables and a spotless environment—right down to the pristine bathroom. The food was exceptional. I started with a fresh house salad featuring crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, red onions, and carrots, paired with a creamy ranch dressing that was perfectly balanced. A basket of warm, crusty bread with butter followed, and it was irresistible—soft inside with a golden, slightly crispy exterior. My main course, the Chicken Parmesan, was a masterpiece: tender, breaded chicken topped with melted mozzarella, marinara, and fresh herbs, served with al dente spaghetti in a flavorful, homemade-tasting sauce. The Grilled Salmon with Bowtie Pasta in a creamy tomato sauce was another highlight—the salmon was flaky and well-seasoned, and the pasta sauce was velvety and delicious. For dessert, the tiramisu was a heavenly finish: creamy mascarpone, espresso-soaked ladyfingers, and a dusting of cocoa, drizzled with chocolate sauce and topped with whipped cream. The presentation was stunning, and the flavors were divine. The service was outstanding—my server was attentive, warm, and knowledgeable, ensuring I had everything I needed without being intrusive. The staff worked seamlessly together, creating a smooth and enjoyable experience. I also loved the lively atmosphere, with a TV behind the bar playing a game (I bet they’d have the Pirates on during the season!). The bar area looked inviting, with Peroni and Coors Light signs hinting at a solid drink selection. Abruzzi Italian Cucina is a true gem, earning every one of its five stars. The food, cleanliness, and service were all top-notch, making it the perfect spot for any occasion. I can’t wait to return—I highly recommend this place!
My family and I met there for lunch on a Sunday. None of us had ever been there. It turned out to be a great place with quality food at reasonable prices and exceptional service! Hats off to Cassandra and Taylor (I believe ). They managed our party of 8's orders very well. The whole team in the restaurant covers each other well vs the 'not my table' attitude you can often see elsewhere. While even an experience with bad food can be made enjoyable with great service, that was not the case here. It was great food topped with great prices topped with amazing service!! Thanks to the whole team for an enjoyable family gathering. We will be back.
We came in to get a pizza...The pizza was really delicious! The crust is amazing..really good sauce...my only complaint..not a lot of pepperoni on it..and the peppers on it tasted like they were pickled..and there were a lot of peppers on it...But I gobbled it up..It was very, very good! Service is also on point!
Ver friendly staff welcomed us to the table without any waiting. Calamari was very juicy. Sautéed spinach was so tasty and delicious. Cod marsala was well above average, however, margherita pizza was just ok.
Our very first visit to Abruzzi and had it on our list to try, we are very glad we did. The restaurant is conveniently located, nice and new atmosphere, very clean and most of all the food is spectacular. The service we received from Heidi M. was top notch, thank you Heidi. We witnessed not only Heidi, but other employees cleaning everything, even wiping of the seats and benches, which is not very often the case at other restaurants. You can tell the staff take pride in where they work. We really enjoyed our meal and experience and will definitely be returning to try other entrees.
